Are your tickets the same price as those of the rail operators?
Yes! Our prices for all SNCF, Deutsche Bahn, Eurostar, Thalys, Trenitalia, Thello, Italo, Renfe, iDTGV, OUIGO, and OUIBUS are the exact same as those offered on their respective websites.
- No booking fees
- No credit card surcharges
- No additional costs
We sell our tickets at the base price which is determined by the rail operator. We don’t add anything on top! We can also sell all of the same fares (including promotional ones) because we are connected to each carrier’s reservation system directly.
So how does Trainline make money?
We simply earn a commission from each sale!
SBB, SNCB, NS, ÖBB, DSB & ČD tickets
For these rail operators, we unfortunately are not always able to charge the base price that is offered on their respective websites. And we do not yet have access to some of their promotional fares. Additionally, the reservation system that we access for these carriers determines the prices of our tickets. So our prices are on average between €2 to €4 higher.
We very much value transparency, so please don't hesitate to contact us if you would like further information about this: trainline.eu/support
Bonus: with certain routes, we can even sell our tickets cheaper than the rail operators. This is because we are able to combine routes and tickets, which can otherwise only be booked separately with each individual operator.
