I want to pay for another passenger’s ticket.

Please select a rail operator:

Deutsche Bahn

If you are booking a Deutsche Bahn ticket, then you most certainly can pay for someone else’s ticket. During booking, you can provide the travelling passenger’s email address and we can send the booking confirmation and ticket(s) directly to them.

If you have a  Trainline account, the ticket will be sent to the email registered to your account, so you can just forward the ticket by email. It’s very simple!

SNCF, Thalys, Lyria RENFE-SNCF and Eurostar

In the case of a print-at-station ticket, the ticket is retrieved using the reference number (e.g. THDKOI) from a ticket machine at the strain station. The credit card used for the payment is not needed. So you are most certainly able to purchase a ticket for another person, without any troubles whatsoever.

If you have received an E-ticket, then it’s very easy, since there will be no need to collect/print the ticket from a ticket machine. During booking, you can provide the travelling passenger’s email address and we can send the booking confirmation and ticket(s) directly to them.

If you have a  Trainline account, the ticket will be sent to the email registered to your account, so you can just forward the ticket by email. It’s very simple!

If the passenger (who is travelling) has a frequent traveller or loyalty card (e.g. Carte Voyageur, Eurostar Frequent Traveller or Thalys TheCard) then it’s really simple! The E-ticket will automatically be stored on the card (if it was added to their passenger details at the time of the booking). This is all the passenger will need to present to the ticket inspector.

Trenitalia and Italo

If you are making a reservation with either of these rail operators, then you most certainly can pay for someone else’s ticket. During booking, you can provide the travelling passenger’s email address and we can send the booking confirmation and ticket(s) directly to them.

If you have a  Trainline account, the ticket will be sent to the email registered to your account, so you can just forward the ticket by email. It’s very simple!

Thello

You are most certainly able to pay for someone else’s Thello ticket. Just make sure that you select a correct ID document (during your booking) for the relevant passenger to present on board. You must enter either a valid passport, ID card or licence number that strictly needs to be presented on board, upon inspection, by the person who you are booking for.

During booking, you can provide the travelling passenger’s email address and we can send the booking confirmation and ticket(s) directly to them.

If you have a  Trainline account, the ticket will be sent to the email registered to your account, so you can just forward the ticket by email. It’s very simple!

OUIBUS and OUIGO

If you are making a reservation with either of these operators, then you most certainly can pay for someone else’s ticket. During booking, you can provide the travelling passenger’s email address and we can send the booking confirmation and ticket(s) directly to them.

If you have a  Trainline account, the ticket will be sent to the email registered to your account, so you can just forward the ticket by email. It’s very simple!
